Andrew (John) House is built.

1884

Architect: McKim, Mead & White. Designed in the Classical Revival style and featuring a wrought iron balcony from the Tuileries Place in Paris, it is located at 32 Hereford Street. It is built for the son of the Massachusetts governor who is himself is elected to the Massachusetts legislature and to Congress and lives here until 1895. The building becomes a Massachusetts Institute of Technology fraternity house in 1950.
